This is a calculator intended to compare the performance of various high interest or investment savings accounts in Canada, in Canadian dollars .

Assumptions:

• Deposits should be CDIC insured (or FDIC), so accounts from vendors like Achieva or Outlook are not listed (yet), as per the requirements of this thread.
• The amount being invested is usually under $100K-250K. There may or may not be better options available to you for higher amounts, depending on your needs.
• The calculator assumes no account fees, and just compares return.
• It assumes that the yearly interest rate is calculated monthly, as done in ING Direct's ISA calculator.
• As in ING's calculator, the monthly addition is added with every iteration.
• Taxes and savings rate changes are are not considered, your mileage may (and will) vary.
• The data is not necessarily up-to-date. If you have better numbers, email me (see obfsucated email address in link at top right of this page)

The results are sorted from best yearly returns to worst.
