This is quite annoying when playing video games or composing music while booted into Windows XP. Preferably you wish to have your MacBook hooked up to your external studio monitors or home stereo but when you do you get sound coming from both devices.

The desired effect would be to route the sound to the line out when something is connected to that output and then use internal speakers when its not (like it works in OS X). Now although we cannot mimic this functionalaty completely we can at least get you half way there by breaking the routing to the internal speakers so that only the line out works.

Simply download and install this audio driver:

Now if you are like me, being without the crappy internal speakers will not be missed. They still work in OS X if you need them, and you probably don’t use them then anyways.
